Tomato problem.... SALSA... What are mexican restaurants doing???

If they cant serve salsa, what are they serving as an alternative??? Only chips??? Are they offering free cheese dip instead that most have????????

  2. Maybe they use canned tomatoes.

Well I read and spoke to some people in restaurant management....the FDA still recommends that we limit consumption...even on the ones that are on the cleared list...and outbreaks are still occurring and the source has yet to be found....If I were you I'd request the cheese instead at no charge...Over 3/4ths of imported tomatoes come from Mexico....the restaurant should be understanding and offer the cheese instead at no charge...if they say no..I'd ask why it wasnt being offered...and ask where their tomatoes come from....

  4. Most restaurants are back to using tomatoes now.  They can use ones from california and flordia.  A few other states as well.

  5. There using canned tomatoes which are safe, at least that's what Chili's is using (I asked the other day). Oh and I heard cherry tomatoes were still safe to eat just not the big ones.
