I have been growing tomato plants recently and occasionaly when i go to pick ripe fruits there will be a hole rotted in the bottom. Its a perfect circle with a black outline and is about 1cm deep. I was told it had something to do with the watering. Over watered or under watered. What causes this? Thanks in advance

 2. Yes, it is blossom end rot and is actually caused by a calcium deficiency and usually brought on by lack of or uneven watering. The fruit is still edible after cutting off the bad part. The disorder is more common early in the growing season and sometimes clears up completely later on, but future crops can be aided with an application of chelated calcium used as per package directions. Epson Salts in water is said to work well but I have never tried it.

 3. Commonly called blossom rot. Could have something to do with watering, old remedy is to pick the first bloom of a plant off and discard it, seems like that is still wasting a possible tomato?

 4. It's called 'tomato blossom end rot'....caused by the plant drying out.....

 5. Funny enough I am getting the same problem here in Thailand. It could be due to the plant drying out as another stated because my plant leaves are curling up despite spraying the plant all over with water.
