Tomatoes recalled?? WHY?

Hello I was wondering why in the h**l are all the tomatoes recalled? we go to a resturant "Sorry we dont have tomatoes" (ex: taco bell, burger king, mcdonalds ect) What exactly happened?

According to the CDC, if infected, the symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps lasting from 4 to 7 days.

So in other words... don't eat them!!

There has been a nation wide outbreak of salmonella that has been traced to fresh tomatoes but they can not trace the origin of the contaminated tomatoes so many restaurants and grocery stores are no longer serving them to their customers.

You cant have tomatoes in taco bell, burger king, McDonald's etc. because the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) restricted tomatoes because of the salmonella outbreak. it’s safe to eat tomatoes grown in Florida and California that investigators have determined are not responsible for the outbreak.
