Does anyone have details on the tomb of the unknown soldier in Santiago, Chile? I know its located in General Manuel Baquedano Square and that the soldier buried there died during the War of the Pacific. Does anyone have any other information on the tomb (not the war)?

    In Plaza Baquedano, the equestrian monument to General Manuel Baquedano, Commander in Chief of the Chilean armed forces in the War of the Pacific. On the green stone pedestal, bronze bas reliefs show details of the battles of Chorrillos, Miraflores, Tacna y Arica, with a plaque saying "From the Chilean people to General Baquedano."

    This is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, who with General Baqudeano forged the triumphs of Chilean heroism. The soldier is afoot, holding a rifle and bayonet. In addition to the soldier, there are two water fountains and the figure of a woman offering a bouquet of cophiues, Chile's national flower. The work of Virginio Arias, the monument was cast and unveiled on September 18, 1928, Chile's Fiestas Patrias.
