Tommy Haas finds new motivation to play at his best possible level at the age of 34 – Tennis News
World number 87, Tommy Haas, is fuming in with confidence and wants to win more and more matches before he officially says goodbye to the professional tennis. He is aged 34 at the moment but his willpower and motivation to power
down his opponents is sky-rocketing.
He is currently competing in the Gerry Weber Open and has already registered two upsets; latest one being the supreme three set battle with the third seed Wimbledon finalist, Tomas Berdych, on Friday. He will contest against the
defending champion, Philipp  Kohlschreiber, in the clash for the place in the final showdown with the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer.
The main focus for the former world number two from Germany is to reach the majestic milestone of 500 victories in singles category. He has currently won 481 matches throughout his iconic career and seeks 19 more triumphs by the
end of the grass court season.
He confessed, “I would like to celebrate my 500th victory on the ATP Tour. I would like to win another title. That would be great. And I would love my daughter to see me play live, but she has to grow a little in order for her
to understand what I’m doing.”
Haas further added, “It’s difficult to believe but I think I hoped for it; especially in my situation. I always tried to keep on fighting and having a few goals helps to keep motivated. That is very important. But I didn’t think
that I would play like I did here or making it to the semis in Munich and beating a Top 10 player.”
He received mammoth support from the local crowd on Friday against the seventh ranked Czech, Berdych, during the quarter-final clash. He was very emotional during the encounter and that aggression clearly suggested that he was
out there with one thing on his mind; victory.
German superstar is playing very well at the moment and wants to play to his limits in every match without caring for the fatigue issues because he wants to win more titles in the dying stages of his career. He has twelve titles
in his tally and thirteen being his lucky number, he would like to attain that milestone as well as early as possible; probably in Halle.
All the motivation and courage makes it a bit more difficult for Kohlschreiber to reach the final of the tournament and possibly defend his title.
