  1. I'm a freshman to and we started school last Thursday.  I was a little nervous at first but once u get there you will realize that there is really nothing to be nervous or scared about.  If you are unable to find a class just ask a teacher or something but at my high school the 9th graders have no problems finding their class rooms cause our principals put all the 9th graders in the 500 wing which is just a building where only 9th graders have class and all your classes a like side by side. But anyways i sure hope u have a good day tomorrow.

P.S. we have a kinda big high school too. We have 1193 students, 4 principals, 3 counselors, 5 Security Guards,75 Teachers, and 29  Support Personnel

  5. I am starting high school sept 3rd, and i am so nervous too! but basically just try to be confident and all of the freshman at the school i am going to be going to get lost there freshman year because they can't find there classes because the school is huge and it is just really confusing. but don't worry about it because chances are other freshman will get lost too and i would think the teachers would be understanding because your new to the school so you don't exaclty know where all your classes are and everything. just try to relax... i am going to be trying to..lol and good luck!

  6. Don't worry, the first few days are a little confusing, but then you get use to it after a while. I start school in six days from now.

  7. im a sophomore now but when i was in 9th grade i was nervous too, but everything will be fine, i got counted late and it was the first day but it was just cuz the teacher was mean aha.

  8. Here is what I wrote on another question like yours:

Every single freshman is as nervous as you are. I would bet a million dollars that not one person feels totally confident of themselves.

Knowing that, I would be nice and talk to the people you want to be friends with, ask them about themselves, tell them about yourself; figure out what you have in common. People are only friends with people who share the same wants, problems and backgrounds. You will definitely make new friends because you will always find a person who is like you, interested in the same things and experiencing the same problems. If you think of your past friends, think about how much you have in common with them, imagine if you had nothing in common with them, then it wouldn't work no matter how much you wanted to be friends with them!

My first day, was uneventful. I went to all my classes, got lists of supplies that I should bring and books to take home. I had lunch with about a quarter of my friends because the others had a different lunch. I went to a rally welcoming freshman and that was it. Nobody made fun of my freshmeness and it was a lot better than I thought. Just remember that everything is always better than you imagine it to be!

Don't bring anything but a writing utensil and some paper. The teachers will give you lists of what they want you to have. Go shopping after the first day of school.

Teachers don't count freshman late during the first week of school, they know that freshman have no idea where their classes are. I would go to your school's web site and print out a map and draw a route of how you are going to get to your classes.

High school is a big playing ground of competition to get into a good college. Every grade matters, even your freshman year because all colleges look at your averaged gpa from 4 years. I would join a lot of clubs and be involved in the community. Colleges like people who are not only well educated but well rounded.

Don't stress your self out to much the first year, but I recommend taking ap classes to boost your gpa and maybe classes from community colleges during the summer in your sophomore and junior years.

Study well for the SAT and you will have a good life ahead of you!

Don't get to caught up in high school drama or hang out with the wrong people. And party smart!

    Good luck!

  9. Well when I was a freshman, I lived in a small town where everyone knew each other and you basically knew everybody in your classes.  It was also not too nerve-wracking for me though because I had already spent so much time in that school I knew it like the back of my hand before I was even in high school.

It sounds to me like you live in a big city school where you don't know all the people in your grade yet and have hardly set foot in your school.  It's really going to be fine, just be yourself and enjoy every second of high school while you have it.

What I did is before high school I wrote a letter to myself to open at my graduation and it was amazing how much I had changed since then.  That could be cool for you to do too.

The first day of high school isn't a huge big deal or anything because it's just like any other day of your life, and think that in a few months, weeks, or even days you'll be wondering why you were so nervous in the first place.  Best of luck and I hope you don't get lost.

  10. i remember my first day of high school haha.

i hated high school soo much!

    hope you have fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.

only 4 more years to goo!!

  11. Your school will likely provide you with a map showing where everything is.  If not, then just ask a teacher or school official where your class is located and if you're late than your teachers should understand and not count you late.  Just relax and don't get intimidated.
