I dont have any work to do because i am all caught up, so yesterday and today i will basically be sitting here bored. This afternoon i am having laser treatment on my foot and i know tomorrow i will be in great pain and limping. Would it be terrible if i just don't show up for my last day? I am not putting this job on my resume, so i don't need references. I am always very responsible and have never done something like this before, but i just really don't want to go in plus i'll be in pain. What would you do?

  1. Even if the work is for 10 days or 5 years, it is always good to close every process in life in a professional way no matter if you plan to put on your resume or not this job.

don't forget that we make our resume from experiences we have with people and even though you may not put this job on your sheet. you may bump with some of the people you work with later in life.

I believe by my experience that the best way to go is always with all matters settled and of course never never  close the door behind you because you never know if you will have to crawl back or need a favor  or whatever.

    regards

GO TO WORK A MAKE A GREAT IMPRESSION

  2. No. Just phone and let them know that you're in pain. You've done your work so it wont be a problem for them but it's only polite to let them know.

  3. If you are a person of integrity, you'll show up, even in pain. That way, you go out with your head held high. You don't know who you might meet again some day, and depend on their opinion of your work habits. I wouldn't burn bridges.

Do the right thing, not the easy thing.

    Best to you.

  4. You really should explain beforehand what the situation is to your superiors.  It's not a very good idea to skip work, even if its the last day.

  5. go in hobble and then get sent home  .................win win situation .......

  6. Have they already done whatever send-off they were planning for you?  It would be embarrassing if they had planned a reception and you weren't there.

If you are absolutely sure that's not the case, and that leaving this way will never come back to bite you in your career down the road (you never know whose path you will cross again & under what circumstances), you might just chance calling in sick.

If there is someone there you know and trust well enough to confide in, you might just ask them about what they think.

  7. Explain the situation to the boss.  DO NOT burn bridges!

  8. Stay home and play w/ us

    GOD BLESS

  9. Go in. Tell them you came in to say goodbye, but that due to your foot surgery you just won't be able to stay. You won't need to fake the limping, it will be real. If possible, get someone to drive you because if you are taking something for the pain it may not be safe to drive. If you are always very responsible, don't stop now. You presumably knew you would be leaving when you scheduled the surgery.
