Tomtom 300 help with western europe maps

Question

i brought tomtom maps collection western europe cd but my sd card did not have enough space, so i brought a 4gb sd card which halfords said would work, i put into the tom tom and now it does not reconise the tomtom on the computer so i cant put the dvd onto it. help please
