Tonbrie Ji expected to dominate proceedings in Ladbrokes Spring Festival Dogs - Heat 1
Tonbrie Ji is likely to dominate proceedings in the Ladbrokes Spring Festival Dogs - Heat 1 at Monmore in England on Monday, March 19, 2012. The winner of the 480 metres flat race will be awarded with a cash prize of £150.
There will be six greyhounds running in the Grade OR event, which is scheduled to start at 14:47 GMT, and their names are: Tonbrie Ji, Local Dee Jay, Fridays Shea, Swan Storm, Onyougojoe and Penrhiw Guto.
The bookmakers have full confidence in the abilities of Tonbrie Ji, who has been in spectacular form over the past few months. He has been winning consistently in this class, thus it will be difficult for the rest of the hounds to match his speed and skills.
K. Billingham’s trainee has been setting some decent trial times at Monmore and he has also won races at this venue. In his most recent outing here, Tonbrie Ji stormed to victory and did not allow any other runner to come closer.
The black dog was in lead right from the start and kept on building it towards the end. He won the event by a huge margin of more than seven lengths, thus will have the confidence and momentum to dominate proceedings once again.
The punters will have a chance of winning some easy money today, thus they will be placing the maximum number of bets in favour of Tonbrie Ji, who is the son of Crash out of Mays Liz and was born in March 2009.
One hound, who can cause a few problems for the race favourite, is Local Dee Jay. He is also in very good form, but will have to pull something out of the box in order to win today’s race.
The seasoned runner has been winning quite a few races, thus the confidence will be high. However, his most recent outing at Monmore saw him finish runner up, which suggests that he does not have the momentum to win at the moment.
Despite that, the punters will be interested in risking some money on K. Findlay’s trained hound, who is the son of Hallucinate out of Local Mol and was born in May 2008.
The rest of the runners do not seem to have any chances of winning today’s race, as they are not in good rhythm at the moment.
