The Rennes midfielder is on the verge of completing a move to the English Premier League with The Baggies believed to be the player’s likely destination
The Mali international has expressed his desire to join the Premier League outfit and it seem that the player is set to complete his dream move to England after West Brom reportedly decided to table a bid for the Rennes man.
Reports claim that the 22-year-old is set to fly to England to negotiate a deal with the Premier League club. Both clubs haven’t settled on an agreement yet but it is expected that a deal will be finalised between the two sides for the midfielder’s signature
in next couple of days.
Several clubs are keeping tabs on the player but Doumbia has set his sights on a move to the Hawthorns and has rejected several approaches from other clubs.
Arsenal were also monitoring the player’s situation but have given up on the Mali international following Doumbia’s unwillingness to make a move to London.
West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke will be delighted by the fact that the former Châteauroux man wants to move to West Bromwich and this will only encourage Albion’s manager to make a swift move for the highly-rated youngster.
While talking to reporters, Tongo Doumbia revealed that English Premier League giants Arsenal contacted him last week in order to acquire his services but he has his heart set on a move to the West Midlands. The 22-year-old believes that playing with WBA
will help him become a better player as he will get more opportunities to shine at The Hawthorns.
"I felt more desired at West Brom. Obviously, it is less glamorous than Arsenal but I'll be able to continue my progress. I will have more chances to play,” Doumbia told French journalists.
Prospect of playing in one of the best Leagues in the world excites the youngster and he is keen to make a switch to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 as early as possible.
"This (Premier League) is a championship that thrills everybody. I hope this is the beginning of a great adventure."
West Bromwich Albion are reportedly readying a bid of 2.5 million Pounds for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mali-c2951 international, but whether it will be enough for Rennes to part ways with their player remains to be seen.
