Toni Embacher wins Men’s 100m butterfly gold medal - 7th Open Luxembourg Nationals
Toni Embacher of SV Halle dominated proceedings and earned the gold medal in the Men’s 100m butterfly category on the last day of the 7th Open Luxembourg Nationals. The Luxembourg Open is a Long Course National Swimming Championship, which provides
a chance to local swimmers to defend their national titles.
The 23-year-old Embacher won the gold medal of the 100m butterfly swim, by touching the finishing wall in an astounding timing of 55.21 seconds. He was only 0.19 seconds above the meet mark of 55.02 seconds, set by Georgi Palatov of Bulgaria in 2008.
The gold medallist was 1.71 seconds ahead of his following swimmer, Emil Bening of Mks Juvenia Wroclaw, who occupied the podium for the silver medal by clocking a time of 56.92 seconds. The top two position holders were followed by Raphael Stacchiotti of
Swimming Club Le Dauphin Ett, who was almost one second behind Bening and pocketed the bronze medal by touching the finishing wall in a time of 57.68 seconds.
The fourth fastest spot of the event was won by Wouter Houtman of Zeester Meerval, who was only 0.09 seconds behind the bronze medallist and posted a time of 57.77 seconds. Embacher’s team-member, Maximillian Krueger was the fifth best swimmer of the two-lap
swim, as he was only 0.02 seconds slower than Houtman and completed his race in a fascinating time of 57.79 seconds.
In the meantime, Mieszko Palmi-Kukielko of Wks Slask Wroclaw completed his swim with a timing of 58.62 seconds and claimed the sixth best spot of the race. He was followed by Amaud Rondan of Selection Languedoc Roussillon, who transpired on the finishing
wall as the seventh fastest swimmer, by submitting a time of 58.74 seconds. Rondan’s team-mate, Alex Baroni was the eighth fastest swimmer of the meet, as he completed his swim in a time of 59.00 seconds.
In addition, the arena acknowledged the tremendous swims of all finalists of the event, while the winners received medals and accolades for their outstanding efforts in the two-lap butterfly swim.
