The Bayern Munich midfielder insists that his side should have taken their chances and ended the game earlier.
The former German champions continued with their impressive run and downed Hannover 2-1 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, March 24. Kroos and Mario Gomez were amongst the goals for the hosts whereas Didier Konan scored the only
goal for the visitors.
Bayern tried their best to keep the pressure on Borussia Dortmund with a win but the reigning champions thrashed FC Koln 6-1 in their respective fixture on Sunday.
Kroos claimed that the Bavarians should have finished the game much earlier and admitted that the team were unable to take most of their chances in the offering. He admitted that the side would not have been under so much pressure
in the last 15 minutes if they had scored on the opportunities available earlier in the game.
The former Bayer Leverkusen player insisted that the team cannot afford any more setbacks in the remaining course of the season and they have to remain on the heels of Borussia Dortmund for the title.
“If you look at the last 15 minutes, you can say Hannover were just as difficult to beat as we’d expected. We should have wrapped it up earlier. We should have been winning by more before half-time. We had four or five really good
chances. Our task is to put pressure on Dortmund,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official website.
On the other hand, Hannover defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Pander-c9111 insisted that his side tried their best against a formidable opposition. He admitted that the hosts deserved to win the game in the end as they had played the better football
in the allotted 90 minutes.
“It’s always hard against Bayern. They have huge individual class, especially on the wings. We knew that, and you’ll never completely prevent Bayern creating chances. Unfortunately, they took two of them,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will next take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 at the easyCredit Stadium on Saturday, March 31. The Bavarians are five points behind current leaders Borussia Dortmund on the Bundesliga standings table with seven games to go until
the end of the season.
