Toni Kroos believes that Bayern Munich could have scored more goals against Villarreal – UCL news
Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos believes that his team could have scored more goals against Villarreal on Wednesday. The two teams locked horns on September 14 in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 for the opening fixture of their UEFA Champions League group.
Bayern came out as 2-0 winners away from home courtesy goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 and Rafinha.
Kroos opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute after receiving a pass from the experienced Franck Ribery. The Frenchman completely dominated the midfield, making the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 easier for younger members of the team. Striker Mario Gomez was also influential
upfront but unfortunately couldn’t find the net despite getting a number of opportunities in the second half.
The Bavarians Defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095 was forced off the field in the 23rdminute, making way for Rafinha. The defender settled in quickly and made Villarreal’s job even harder. He eventually secured all three points for his side with the second
goal on the 76th minute mark.
Kroos claimed that Bayern will carry their winning form in the next group game against Manchester City and is confident of progressing through to the last four of the competition.
"This is a very tough group with top-quality teams from all the best leagues in Europe. But we want to win it and we have the quality." The 21-year-old added.
The German international further enthused, "We are happy enough with a 2-0 win but obviously we could have scored more given the chances we had. We didn't allow Villarreal a sniff of goal, but we should have added more ourselves. We played much better in
the second half than the first. We made the ball zip in the passing, the game was under control.”
Kroos started his professional journey with Bayern in 2007 and so far has 50 league appearances under his belt for the senior side to go along with a solitary goal. The player earned his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut in 2010 and has one goal to his name until now from 21
international caps.
