  1. It was about what I expected..I'm certain he means well..he just didn't have good advice early on.

  2. THE SPEECH WAS LONG WINDED AND RAMBLING. WHAT IT SAID TO ME IS IM GOING TO BE JUST AS STUBBORN AS I HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. THE MAN IS A SOCIOPATH.

  3. Yes, I did.  I also watched Democratic follow-up comments, plus some of the "talking heads", etc. on MSNBC.

  4. It was the best speech ever given by the President.  He made a lot of sense and the house was in agreement - it seemed.

  5. Yes, I thought he addressed all the issues but offered no original or new solutions. In fact he sugar coated alot of the controversial issues and tapped danced around them. He was kind of saying the same old famous quote "were staying the course". I also thought alot of it was propagated hype.

Most of his solutions that he did talk about didn't seem to address the issues on a severe enough level. For example when talking about the declining economy he suggested that we try to get foreign countries to drop tariffs so that we can make American products more affordable in other countries, why not impose tariffs on imports to prevent outsourcing and creating a larger manufacturing market in the US which will create a larger domestic labor force. As far as health care reform, he said in so many words that we want to keep it the same. The housing crisis, well he didn't have a plan at all, offering tax free bonds, what the h**l is that. Then he tries to tell us that employment has increased, at what level, the minimum wage level? As far as global warming, he says lets rely on technology advances to create better emissions instead of insisting on government regulations requiring companies to implement environment safe fuel plans.

  6. Yes, good stuff.  Dems sitting on their hands, rolling their eyes, not clapping when he came in (Hillary), sleeping (Ted Kennedy), mouthing things behind Bush's back (Pelosi), talking during the speech and not listening (Hillary), and not standing and cheering tax cuts and earmark / pork spending reduction (all Dems).

  7. I watched and was not the impressed as I thought he said much of the same things we've been hearing for the last 7 years. The names are changed on some things but they remain the same. He says the economy is good, we are doing good in the middle east, and the high point was he says some troops are returning home and not going to have to re-deploy. That was great to hear....It was not all bad.

  8. yes, nothing special.... scolding of the senate and house, stuck on accomplishments from 2003 and earlier, still unable to accept that no child left behind teaches a test and does not encourage a comprehensive/ challenging curriculum, didn't ask anything of our nation's citizens, scaring us about terrorism.....

did anyone else notice that not even all the arm forces representatives would clap when he talked about "liberation" and fighting terrorism?

  9. I think he should have asked the dems why their approval rating is at an all time low and then proceeded to tell them.

  10. No I didn't.  I was busy reading, "My Pet Goat."

  11. i missed it, but im guessing ill be shaking my head as usual when i watch the rerun on cspan tonight.

........ok i just watched the last part of it. like all of his speeches, it was lackluster and full of empty promises - and many of these promises I actually hope will remain empty.

He is the reincarnation of LBJ and has destroyed his own party.

  12. Yes and recorded it. I thought is was very good, and I agreed with everything he said, except about Immigraton, the laws on the books need to be enforced, NOW, not changed.
