world's eco system in balance. Why do you think this is happening? Does it concern you like it does me?

  1. The loss of Bees is concerning.  In this case it's a virus that is the cause for the loss of bees.

  2. Yes, it concerns me very much.  Without bees, we don't have crops & we will starve.  Without bats -disease from mosquitoes.

I believe a virus is infecting the bees.  Also weed killers, bug killers, etc. are killing the bees & bats.

I have had to hand pollinate a lot of my vegetables because the bees are disappearing.  Can you imagine if we have to do that with all our crops?!!

  3. w/all the inbreeding, they have altered the life span of most insects or made killers out of them,i have suggested in the past the only hope is to build a confinement,to re raise all the insects we are putting out of existence

  4. There is no world census of bats and bees, so no one knows for sure if there are less or more than you would expect.

"Suggestions" and anecdotal observations are not quite the same as definitive data.  And species are constantly trying to kill each other off as they compete, so the balance is always changing.

Population crashes in a species are not unusual.  Lemmings for example, do it to themselves.

Even if all humans were infected with HIV, there are already about 5% that don't go on to AIDS, so the world just repopulates with the more robust individuals that survive.

Worry about death and taxes, those are the certainties in our world.

  5. Bats are lowering because of stupid people out here kill them. I get upset, they're harmless. so many people panic when they see them flying. I think they're cute.  They eat mosquito's and other insects, they only have 1 offspring per year. They help polinate banana tree's, avacado's etc.

It doesn't really concern me about the ecosystem because my beliefs is the world won't last forever :P

I do beleve in trying to preserve it as long as possible and do my share. I would suggest buying bat houses and hanging them on your home. or garage.

Perhaps someone should start breeding bee's for a living then release them..  I guess we will all wait and see what happens.

  6. of course this is a concern..

no bats and we will be overun by mosquitoes..

no bees and we will run out of food soon - because there are many plants ONLY bees pollinate.. in fact its estimated we cannot live more than 5 years without bees..

why is it happening?? I heard CELL PHONES are messing with their navigation systems and air pollution is bad for their tiny systems too..

basically too many people doing too many bad things...

  7. no

  8. yes it does, like honestly the planet is going to be wrecked in a few years all because of us. We are the ones who are distroying the earth and we don't even know it. If we don't get better the world is going to come to and end for sure!

  9. Well I just learned in science class last simester (since Bees are disappearing) that we need bees because they pollinate flowers and fuit and they make honey. We need fruit to eat and they help basically all plants live and without  them A LOT of plants would die!  A lot of plants start off as flowers and they need to be pollinated to spread. Like flowers for example, Bees pollinate flowers by going in to one flower and taking the nectar out of it then it carries the pollin to the next flower and that flower gets the other flower's pollin on it and that is how flowers reproduce so to speak. I'm 14 but trust me I know a lot.

Now for bats!  Bats basically keep the bug population in control. They are nocturnal as you know, but they kill a lot of mosquitos! Mosquitos, as you know carry a lot of diseases like "West Nile Virus".  They are good for health purposes and I would cry if Bats and Bees became extinct.

I also learned that Bee Keepers are trying to reproduce Bees but they are taking the wrong Bees and putting them in the wrong environment with the wrong kinds of flowers and things to pollinate.....and therefore they die >=( *sniffle sniffle.....crying*!

All my love to the world!  God Bless it!
