Singapore.
In the final battle, the World Number Three Indonesian duo outplayed Korea’s Yeon Seong Yoo and Hye Won Eom in a completely commanding manner.
The third seeded Tontowi and Liliyana, who maintained their superior performance throughout the championship, maintained their high performance in the title match and easily finished up the contest in just 35 minutes.
Indonesian shuttlers were in superb form as they created pressure on their opponents from starting points and maintained it all the way. They proved their mettle in the arena by winding up the match with a staggering margin of
21-12 and 21-12.
On the contrary, the un-seeded Koreans could not repeat their tremendous performance against the experienced Indonesian challengers. They failed to dominate the pace and went down without even getting a reasonable total.
Tontowi and Liliyana started their run in a dominating manner as they played attacking and controlled badminton and took a wonderful lead until the one-minute break in first game.
After the interval, Koreans tried to play dominating badminton at net but they failed to push their opponents on back foot.
Meanwhile, Tontowi and Liliyana progressed with a great pace and easily bagged the first game with a commanding 21-12 total on the score board.
In the second game, the higher ranked Indonesian players were again in command of the pace. They kept their opponents on back foot all the way in the opening half and took a huge lead until the mid-game interval.
In the concluding part, Tontowi and Liliyana stayed focused and they did not let the Koreans to catch up at any stage. They found gaps easily and manipulated the weaknesses of their challengers without facing any trouble.
The lofty Tontowi and Liliyana sailed smoothly all the way to win the second game with a one-sided margin of 21-12 and emerged as the crown winners in this Super Series championship.
