Tony Bellew: If I stick to a game plan, I can beat anybody – Boxing news
The reigning Commonwealth light heavyweight champion Tony Bellew has claimed he will break Nathan Cleverly’s unbeaten fight record in September 2011.
Nathan Cleverly, who is the current WBO light heavyweight world champion, has won all of his 22 fights including 11 by the way of a knockout. Bellew, who also has won all of his 16 professional fights including 10 by the way of a knockout, believes he will
beat Cleverly in the ring.
The 24-year-old Welshman, Cleverly, was scheduled against Juergen Braehmer in May 2011 but after Braehmer withdrew from the fight, Tony Bellew was brought in. However, the bout could not happen as Bellew was knocked out due to weight issues.
The 28-year-old from Liverpool, Bellew, however is positive he will get another shot against Nathan in September 2011, as he recently defeated Ovill McKenzie on Saturday, July 16, 2011 to add the British title to his belts.
The Wavertree Bomber, Bellew, told the media he is confident his fight with Nathan will happen and he thinks he is going to outclass him on the fight night, as he annoys him a lot.
“At the end of the day, I'm sure the fight will happen. I can't stand him and he can't stand me. He takes it personally. I annoy him, I make him angry and he's going to pay for that anger when I fight him,” he said.
Bellew added he wants the fight to be somewhere in September. Moreover, he reckons if he sticks to a game plan, he can dump anyone in the ring.
While speaking on his inclusion, he added, “He'll still be confident and he's unbeaten just like me - he believes no one can beat him. I believe if I stick to a game plan, I can beat anybody. Let's do it in September and let's do it with Cleverly - that's
what I'm saying, continued Bellew. I'm happy for that fight to happen in September.”
Let’s see if Bellew gets a fight with Nathan Cleverly as it is certainly going to be an enthralling bout for the viewers.
