Tony Bellew responds to Nathan Cleverly, says he will surprise him on fight night – Boxing news
The British and Commonwealth title holder, Tony Bellew, has responded to the current World Boxing Organisation light heavyweight world champion, Nathan Cleverly, who had claimed he is going to stay undefeated against Bellew in their upcoming grudge match
on October 15, 2011 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
The undefeated Wavertree Bomber, Bellew, who has won all 16 of his professional fights, with 10 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, admitted in front of the media that Cleverly is faster than him but on the same note the Brit stated there is always
a way to negate the speed.
The 28-year-old Liverpudlian warrior, Bellew, added he will surprise his Welsh opponent, who also holds an undefeated record of winning all of his 22 professional fights, with 11 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “He is faster than me but there is a way of negating speed and that is a fantastic jab. But not only am I going to be throwing a fantastic jab, I am going to come back with various things, different combinations
and power shots that he has never seen or felt.”
Bellew vowed he will become the crowned champion on the fight night and it will be the sorriest night of Nathan’s life.
Bellew remarked, “I am going to walk out of that arena crowned a world champion. October 15 is going to be the sorriest night of his life.”
Nathan accused Bellew of earning the fight through trash talk. However, Bellew believes Nathan is fighting him because he can provide him with a big pay-day.
“He is getting the best payday of his career because I generate media interest. He can't generate anything,” Bellew said.
There has been a lot of hype created ahead of this bout and everyone is waiting to see which of these two fighters gets his record broken.
