Tony Drago reckons Barry Hearn can make snooker better than ever – Snooker news
The Maltese Falcon, Tony Drago, who is currently ranked at number 46 in the world snooker rankings, reckons the chairman of World Snooker Barry Hearn is doing a great job to build a bright future for the sport.
The PTT-EGAT Snooker World Cup has been brought back to the snooker calendar after a long time. It was last held in 1996 and now after a time period of 15 years, it has come back again.
There used to be three-man teams in the Snooker World Cup but this time according to the new format, there will be pairs. Therefore, Drago is currently in Bangkok, Thailand with his teammate Alex Borg to represent his country.
Drago shared his feelings with the media. He stated he had almost lost his reputation but now he is really feeling himself as a snooker player once again.
Drago also believes if Barry Hearn is given more time he will definitely come up with more ideas.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “We all feel like snooker players again. I never stopped being a snooker player but now I feel alive as a snooker player and not as a dead player as I was a few years ago. If you give Barry time and have some patience
and let him work and do the best for snooker then he can make it better than ever.”
In the end Drago, who is famous for his fast and attacking style of play, remarked that the snooker season used to start in September previously but with the new changes made, the players remain busy almost throughout the year. Drago thinks due to all these
changes by the end of 2011, every player is going to be on top of his game.
“By the time November or December comes round everyone will be at the top of their form but before Barry came back you didn't even start the season until September and it was hard,” said Drago.
