Tony Ferguson beats Yves Edwards by unanimous decision at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale – TUF Recap
American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Tony Ferguson faced Bahamian American Yves Edwards on December 3, 2011. Their bout for the lightweight division took place at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale event, which is produced
by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).  Ferguson won the bout by a unanimous decision of 30-27, 30-27, 29-28.
The 35-year-old Ferguson used his strong kicks the moment their bout started. Edward was on the offensive at once and tried his best to counter Ferguson’s moves.Edwards was looking for a combo kick and punch move but missed by
a fraction. Ferguson landed some kicks that made some impact for the moment but could not make Edwards lose focus.
Ferguson then moved towards Edwards with his onslaught as he started throwing punches and kicks. Edwards could do nothing much defend himself and counter the moves. Edwards was then able to takedown Ferguson but he countered with
a rolling move on the mat. Both the fighters were trying to go for a submission move but could not as the round ended.
With the second round in progress, both fighters gave their stare down in the middle of the UFC octagon cage. They started the second round with their punches and kicks but none of them could give any edge to either of the two
fighters. The fighters were in search for an opening to take a lead into the bout but could not find that single moment. Edwards briefly capitalized on an opening when he gave a straight kick to Ferguson on his head, making him unbalance for a few seconds.
Ferguson’s nose starts to bleed, as Edwards’ kick was right on target. Ferguson was now targeting Edwards’ facial part. He gave a huge uppercut which might have a strong impact had it fully connected with Edwards’ face, but it
was effective indeed. Edwards gave a hard kick followed by a punch by Ferguson that was dodged by Edwards.  Ferguson looked strong as the second round continued and took down Edwards but the second round ended, saving Edwards from losing.
As the third round began, both fighters were focused on the fight and on winning the bout. Edwards moved in with his punches but Ferguson managed to step away from the onslaught. Edwards then threw a hard right punch which had
an impact but Ferguson kept his ground. Edwards gradually got his confidence back and gave an overhand punch that slowed down Ferguson’s momentum.
Edwards then tried to put down Ferguson with a kick at the head but it is not that effective. Both fighters kept standing and exchanged their hard punches and kicks, until the bell rang and the bout ended. The judges gave their
decision, declaring Ferguson as the winner.
