Tony Fernandes expects Jarno Trulli to return for upcoming 2011 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Team Lotus boss Tony Fernandes has said that he is hopeful Jarno Trulli will return to the grid in the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix scheduled to be held on July 31, 2011 at the Hungaroring race circuit.
Trulli did not take part in the recently held German Grand Prix, as Lotus selected Hispania Racing Team driver Karun Chandhok for the Nürburgring race weekend. Chandhok drove Trulli’s T128 car in the German race weekend, where he took a positive start and
stayed on the racetrack until the end of the race.
Lotus driver Trulli had a power steering issue from the last few races of the 2011 Formula 1 season. The Hingham-based outfit has recently fixed the issue ahead of the Hungarian race weekend.
After fixing the issue, they believe the Italian will perform well at the Hungaroring racetrack this weekend.
Talking to reporters, Fernandes said, “We are not expecting miracles from that - it is obviously a small part but, for Jarno, pretty vital as the aim is to give him the feel he needs from the car to extract every ounce of performance he can. It will be good
to see him back in the pack.”
The team boss further said that he is sure Trulli will get stronger results for them from the Hungarian race following his disappointing 2011 British Grand Prix.
On the other hand, Lotus driver Trulli stated that he is looking forward to a successful race in Hungary this weekend.
The 37-year-old driver added, “This year it's more difficult than any other season to predict how competitive we are going to be at any of the circuits we race at, mainly because there are so many new factors to take into account that comparisons with previous
seasons are largely redundant.”
He also mentioned that the Hungarian racetrack is pretty similar to the Monaco race circuit. He added that he would be stronger in the Hungarian race weekend, as they were competitive in the 2011 Monaco GP.
Let’s see how Trulli manages his race at the Hungaroring race circuit this weekend.
