Tony McCoy claims another victory with French Opera: Horse Racing news
The Sandown card started on Saturday and a great deal of quality racing was on display for the fans of the sport and all those involved in the horse racing business. The races of the Bet365 Gold Cup provided endless entertainment for sports analysts and
fans as these races featured some of the best racehorses from around the United Kingdom.
The Bet365.com Celebration Chase was claimed by famed jockey Tony McCoy as he was successful in winning this race with his champion colt French Opera. This was a Grade 2 event and was contended by racehorses of age 5 and above. Both the racehorse and the
jockey were in the best of form and spirits as they managed to produce a brilliant performance in this race and together impressed their fans and connections.
Tony McCoy is one of the most celebrated and fancied jockeys in the racing industry. He is indeed a legendary rider as he added the 16th victory to his list of wins on the champion racehorses. The Sandown meeting proved to be lucky for the famed
trainer Nicky Henderson, as his eight-year-old trainee claimed one of the prestigious races of the season under McCoy. On the other hand, the racehorse who struggled to finish the race in the second spot was Chaninbar. He only sprung into action after three
straights and then managed to finish two lengths behind the winner.
It is unfortunate that the winner, French Opera, has not been acknowledged for his achievements as he has claimed five racing events in the last 18 months. Moreover, according to reports French Opera has also improved his weight to 24lb since October 2009.
Nonetheless, he was one of the top favourites for the Sandown meeting, and was sent out as a 2-1 favourite in a field of six competitors. He was behind the top rated colt Tataniano.
The third place finisher in this race was the racehorse Cornas, meanwhile the top favourite Tataniano could only manage to finish the race in fifth spot.
