Tony Mowbray denies Ishmael Miller link
New Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has denied reports linking the club with a move to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Ishmael Miller on loan.
Mowbray was the manager that originally took Miller to West Brom but he has denied the rumours that he is thinking of bringing the player to Middlesbrough. It is thought Mowbray wants to assess his squad
before making any decisions over possible signings and departures.
"I know we've been linked with Ishmael Miller, but I'm not sure where that's come from.
There's no substance in it. I think people are just putting two and two together because I signed Ishmael when I was
at West Brom," said Mowbray on the club's official website.

Miller could be a very good possible signing for Middlesbrough despite the manager's comments. However, there is still plenty of time for the club to focus on targets before
the January transfer window opens.
Available for loan
Miller is going to be made available for loan in the very near future and if a move to Middlesbrough materialised, it would be very positive. Miller would add real pace
and power to the Championship side's attack.
He's a very creative striker who can play different roles and bring others into play. This would provide an extra edge to the Middlesbrough attack and offer something different
to the strikers the club already has.
It is naive to think that Mowbray would not be interested in signing a player he clearly rates and respects. However, Mowbray has never been a manager to rush into anything
because of stories that have broken in the media.
Mowbray was always going to put a lid on any transfer rumours during his early days at the club. It's only fair and right that he gives the players already at Middlesbrough
a chance to impress.
Betting advice
If Miller does eventually join Middlesbrough then back him to do well. He is far too good a striker to be playing Championship football and should go on and score a lot
of goals in the second flight of the English game.
