Stoke City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis has revealed he believes his side will be in top shape after their new and improved pre-season training for the 2012-2013 season.
Since Pulis took charge of the club, the side have been going to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844 for their pre-season training. However, this time around they will be taking a tour of the United States as they prepare for the upcoming season after a not so fantastic finish in the
previous.
The manager was previously not to keen on making trips too far away, but has now agreed to a two week stay in the United States. Stoke City will be playing in Ohio, Florida and Missouri between late July and early August and Pulis was certain it would be
beneficial to his players.
Pulis said while speaking to reporters:
“There will be some travelling involved, but it is during the summer and not in the middle of the season. And the internal flights between venues will only be about two hours each, so that's just like jumping on a coach to Bristol.
Obviously the trip to and from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 will be difficult, but overall I think the travelling is manageable.”
Pulis was certain the trip to the United States would be somewhat difficult to his side, who were not used to the making the long journey. However, he believed it was manageable and would provide a good change for his players.
The English Premier League side will be taking on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034. Pulis admitted he had spoken to other Premier League managers and they had all recommended the trip to America.
He revealed:
“I've spoken to two or three managers who've been out there in recent years to get a feel of what the trip will be like. Their conclusion was that it was beneficial in terms of pre-season preparation.”
According to Pulis, the change in weather and going up against the MLS sides, who were already halfway through their season would only benefit his side. He expected them to provide a tough challenge when they took on the English Premier League side.
