The 27-year-old German central defender has just a year left on his existing contract and has been linked with a move away. Pulis, however, is determined to retain his services and is attempting to get the player to sign a contract extension with the English
Premier League side.
Pulis confirmed his number one priority was to make sure Huth remained at the club after his terrific performance for the club in the past season. Huth made 49 appearances in all competitions and even went to contribute to his side’s goal tally with five
goals.
Pulis said in an interview:
“We are desperately keen to try and get http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 sorted out. We've been talking to him for the last three months, but whatever happens we will not be trying to cash in on him.
I'm hoping something will be sorted out with him by the time we come back for pre-season training in July.”
According to the Stoke City boss, the club had been in talks with Huth for the last three months regarding a possible contract. He praised the former German international for the way he approached the game and his commitment to the side.
He said:
“He's obviously a player who is valued, and the supporters have clearly taken to Huthy during his time here because of the committed way he approaches the game.”
The player himself seems to be keen on staying with Stoke City, Huth revealed he was happy at the club and seemed to get along fine with everyone there. He felt those were reasons enough to keep him at Britannia Stadium in the future.
Huth revealed in an interview:
“I'm enjoying it here. It's fun and I get along very well with everybody. That's why I don't see any reason to change anything.”
Huth joined Stoke City from Middleborough in 2009 and since then has made a total of 130 appearances in all competitions and has found the back of the net 17 times.
