Tony Romo seeks redemption as Dallas Cowboys take on Seattle Seahawks – NFL Preview
Dallas Cowboys have successfully avenged their last season’s failure after defeating the defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants in the first game of this season and they are now  looking to establish a winning streak as they visit Seattle to face
Seahawks on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at CenturyLink Field for Week 2 game of the 2012 season.
The encounter is pretty special for Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who has some ugly memories of his last visit to Seattle.
In the 2006 season, Cowboys faced Seahawks in a playoff game. The Cowboys were heading towards victory when Romo, who had just become the offence leader, fumbled a snap that resulted into a missed field goal attempt for the Cowboys and they eventually lost
the game.
After marking a positive start to the season, Romo and the Cowboys hope to build on their winning performance and overcome Seahawks, who are coming off a defeat against Arizona Cardinals.
However, that does not mean that Seahawks are going to be an easy opponent for the visitors. Although the Cowboys’ victory against Giants was pretty impressive, head coach Jason Garrett has urged the players not to get complacent.
Garrett is of the view that the Cowboys must focus on the task at hand and ensure right from the day one that they qualify for playoffs this season. As the Cowboys prepared for Seahawks, Garrett said:
“It’s always a challenge to move on. We continue to preach it because we think it’s important. It’s a good philosophy for football players, teams, and it’s a good philosophy for life. We’re on to the next one.”
Cowboys are also expected to have services of tight end Jason Witten again in the game. He is still recovering from a spleen injury, but seems fit enough to play. Moreover, cornerback Mike Jenkins is also expected to play his first game of this season.
Meanwhile, Seahawks are also hoping to improve their performance, especially on the offence. Their rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, who had been pretty dynamic during the offseason and preseason, was unable to display notable performance against the Cards
and although he is going to start against the Cowboys, he is going to feel extra pressure.
An encouraging sign for the Seahawks is that the rookie realises his responsibility and has hoped to meet expectations in the next game. Wilson said of the last game and the next encounter:
“I think the biggest thing is it was my first experience. It was a joy to be out there, first of all. Obviously, you want to win the game, and that’s all I care about no matter what the situation is. More than anything, we all have to communicate better
and it all starts with me. I’ve just got to make sure everybody’s on the same page.”
