Tony Woodcock believes Arsenal lack ‘Drive and Consistency’ – Premier League Update
Former Arsenal and FC Koln forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Woodcock has gone on to blast his former English club, as he has stated that the team no longer possess the dive and consistency that it once had.
The forward went on to state that the team has had its fair share of opportunities in the past, but have so far failed to capitalize on them. In fact, the player went on to add that it was the teams fault that they haven’t been able to land a trophy in the last six years.
Woodcock is quoted to have said: "In the past two years, Arsenal have not had enough drive.
“This, of course, is at a much higher level than Koln. Arsenal were given the chance to be champions. In the decisive games, they lacked consistency.”
Considering the fact that Koln and Arsenal are set to face off in a friendly, Woodcock went on to state that he was very excited to see both his former clubs go up against each other and also stated that Arsenal were easily the favourites going into the game.
He continued: "I saw both teams very many times. If Arsenal fulfil their full potential and Koln too, then http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 will win. I'm an Koln fan, but everyone should approach this game realistically.
“Arsenal have great players and play a great style of football. Nevertheless, there is also criticism in London, because the fans want to win titles.”
It would be hard not to place Arsenal as the favourites going into the game against Koln. The Gunners, despite their poor form over the course of the last six years, are still one of the best teams in Europe and are always a team to watch out for.
That being said, it is also fair to agree with Woodcock, regarding his comments about the Gunners and their dip in consistency. The team has been on the brink of winning it all time and time again, however, they almost always end up failing to do so and that can only be, because of their inability to stay focused.
However, in the end, the ultimate blame kind of falls on the shoulders of Arsene Wenger. The manager has been trying his luck with the club, as he tries to induce youth to the mix, unfortunately that plan hasn’t been going according to the manager’s plans.
As a result, the team needs to get their heads down and try and figure out a solution, or it might be time for some drastic changes around the club.
