  1. That is an awful lot of miles for a 2002 but you have to look at the tranny and engine life of that kind of car.I have done some research on Hundayi because I was looking into buying one but alot of them have had a lot of problems and recalls.Just do some research on the quality of the car and how much it is actually worth. Also keep in mind that b/c it has that many miles you may have to do some maintenance sooner than later.Good luck!!

  2. Have them do a timing belt if they didn't do it at 100,000.   On many cars the timing belt drives the water pump so its a good idea when they do the belt to also change the pump, even if its still working.  That's because if you do the timing and then the pump goes you have to do it all over again.

If they haven't done the timing and then the belt snaps you'll have to lay out anywhere from $500-$1500.

5,000?  Is that book value?   I wouldn't pay more than $3500 for that car.

Also, there are a lot of miles on that car in a very short period of time.

EDIT:  I agree with the person who said to look at the Civic.

  3. Bad deal, Hyundai Accents are a dime a dozen.

  4. Your buying a Hyundai Accent with over 125,000 miles for $5,000? That's not a good deal, you could definitely get a better car for $5,000. Maybe look at a Civic, they're really gas efficient and it will actually last you.

  5. Horrible deal, horrible car to buy with high miles. Hyundai did not start making reliable cars until about 2005. I'd be very surprised if they engine in that car lasts another 25,000 miles without major work.

  6. sounds kinda pricey - a loaded up one would be maybe $4000+.  Of course with gas prices being so high, cars that get good mpg are selling for above book value.  I would avoid it.  They are not all that reliable (not bad, but not a Honda) and while it is likely highway miles, some parts will fail just due to wear and tear.

  7. 2002 Hyundai Accent PicturesTMV: $3,128 - $3,769

    $5000 not a great deal
