Hi, I live in indiana.. its hot here.. and we do not have A C in hour house. My pigs and I live on the second floor, and i'm worried its too hot for them in my room because i'm uncomfortable in there. They have pig-a-loo's

that they hide in. I'm sure its hot in there, but if i take the hiding places away, they go spastic anytime any noise or movement happens in my room. Is there something better they can hide in in the summer months, and also, would it be okay to put a cold water bottle in there with them? thanks!!

  1. Guinea pigs come from the Andes mountains, where it is quite cool.

They need their hiding places because they are prey animals, and if they don't hide, they feel that they are in danger.

I let my guinea pigs hide in empty 12-pack soda boxes. I change it out every day, getting friends to give me their used soda boxes. They must have CLEAN boxes daily; they are disposable.

  2. your pig is fine -mine lives outside and it's been 100 degrees here in NV.  never remove it's hiding place -this is a necessity.  remember pigs are nocturnal.
