I was eating 330 grams of carbs per day as a veggie. So they were good carbs, and I am far from being overweight, but I recently read that women who ate a lot of carbs had a higher instance of developing breast cancer. So is 330 grams too much?

I am only asking in terms of health, not weight loss/gain concerns.

  1. Nonsense. Good carbs will not cause cancer. If anything, a wide variety of whole plant foods in your daily diet will help prevent cancer. Numerous studies have shown this.

Whole plant foods include Fruits, Vegetables, Whole grains, beans, nuts and seeds. These all contain fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, polyphenols and a number of other nutrients that prevent cancer. Some are more helpful than others, but all will help you.

  2. 330 grams of carbs daily is a lot that's almost 1,400 calories alone just from carbs.  what else did you diet consist of?  I don't know many woment that consume that many carbs and have a low amount of body fat.  which is far more important the the total bodyweight or the BMI.

only competitive athletes need a high carbohydrate intake. most people can function fine with a carbohydrate intake that is between 20-40% of the daily calories.
