The Palermo President has quashed any suggestions of players being overworked through the course of the season, mentioning it was not the cause of Morosini’s
death.
The Rosanero Chief Executive was in opposition of the move to cancel the matches because of the death of Livorno midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Piermario-Morosini-c29986. He was of the opinion that
it was not the rational decision and was based on emotion rather than thinking from the head.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306, Udinese talismanic striker stated that there was a huge influx of matches being played in the Italian football and that was responsible for the collapse
of the midfielder on the field of play. Di Natale was a friend of Morosini as they had been teammates.
Morosini had been sent on loan to Livorno by the Bianconeri, and was still owned by the Friulani outfit. Udinese had requested for the postponement of their match against

Maurizio Zamparini further went on to state that there was no need of making, considering the amount of matches played in the Lega to be the reason of players over working.
He went on to state that football was played in other countries as well. He was bemused at the proceedings after witnessing the course of events that unfolded after the incident. He further went on to state:
“I don’t agree because we know that even more football is played in other countries. To say such a thing in such an emotional moment, like what we are living through after
want happened on Saturday, makes no sense in my view.”
Morosini tried to stand up after initially collapsing in Livorno’s match against Pescara, however he failed in his attempts and had to be rushed to the hospital where he
was later declared to have died.
On the topic of too many matches being played in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, the Rosanero patron further remarked:
“Clubs have well assembled squads these days, it’s not like in the past.
Udinese can count on 35, Palermo 30. It’s like saying that as people drive too much there are more road accidents.”
The matchday 33 fixtures have been moved onto next week, with the matches being played on April 25.
