  1. On the contrary, I think that almost all current Western administrations are suffering from an enormous lack of political party and diversified political representation. I'm an American living in Europe for about 4 years now, and while in Europe most countries seem to be centering on about 2-3 parties, it is still exponentially better than the American system. With two large parties, a multitude of different ideas or political persuasions get lost in an all-encompassing "right" or "left" wing. I think that an increase in political parties would stimulate more productive political debate within the government and increase the likelihood of positive feedback for the population without the fear of one specific party's agenda. Consider the current election, Obama has to make sure he covers everybody so he doesn't lose votes, but instead what he does lose is sight of his own actual political goals. Multiple party systems stimulate healthy democracy and would also inspire more people to get involved in the government because they could see that everyones vote and opinion matter, instead of fearing that they're going to fade into the background, pigeon-holed on one side or the other.

  2. I would not agree with your statement, as I regard a large number of parties standing at an election to be a sign of a vibrant democracy, where the Electorate is engaged in the political process.
