Too much am-bionic Fluid, 33 Weeks Pregnant.?

I went to the midwife last thursday and she told me that i am gaining bionic fluid and she was not sure if the baby was still growing. I have to go back to see her tomorrow for another check to make sure that the baby is growing. I have always been told that i am carrying allot of fluid but i did not realize that is could stop the baby growing.

He kicks all the time and i have loads of movements. Has anyone had this before and can anyone tell me what to expect to happen. Just slightly concerned that the extra fluid could harm my baby.

all comments appreciated.

  1. I presume you mean amniotic fluid.

Too much or too little amniotic fluid can cause some growth problems. With my 4th child I had too little amniotic fluid and they ended up inducing her at 36.5 weeks and she is now 8 and just fine.

It sounds as though your medical care is sufficiently monitoring you.

  2. Wait until the ultrasound. Maybe your baby is not huge like all these babies that are being born now. Maybe you have less time than you were told. Ask your midwife for all the negatives of too much fluid. I know that if your water breaks and the baby is not turned yet or upside downs he might get a foot caught in the cervix or the cord which will cute oxygen to him.

Hopefully everything goes well. Good Luck!

  3. wait until you have the ultra sound, extra fluid can cause developmental problems but if he is moving its a good thing.  Clock the movements you have daily they say its normal to have 6-8 major movements in a 2 hour period.  And also drink lots of liquids yourself because you body maybe retaining water as well so the more you flush might help. But wait and see I am sure it will work out for you.  if there is a problem they may tell you to deliver the baby early at 33 weeks your baby has a very good chance of developing normally outside the womb.

  4. The AMNIOTIC FLUID doesn't cause any harm!
