Hi there i am a 16 year old male also I play basketball very frequently like 4+ hours a day. Every morning i wake up stretch, jog for 30 min, breakfast, hit the gym for 2 hours then come back play ball and jump rope. 6 days of the week i go to the gym 3 days for legs/plyometrics to jump higher, other 3 for chest, back, arms. I go plyometrics/leg 1 day, other bod parts other day in that pattern. On the 7th day I do an ab workout for an hour. Am i overworking my muscles so that they dont develop/get bigger?

  1. Haha, it's funny because most of the people who make claims like this turn out to be fat f***s who don't get any excersise at all, but if your being for real, then yeah your are, work 2 days straight and then take a day off, and keep repeating. And dude, its cool if your doing that, but seriously have some fun instead of doing sit ups until you s**t your pants.

  2. You have a PE teacher right?  That is who you need to be asking OR your family physician.

  3. Nah i do almost the same thing except I play bball all week long for 5+ hours

  4. I think you are.

  5. many experts suggest a day of rest in between each workout, but i have found that if you work untill you feel a burn in whatever you are doing (fat burn, cardio, strength, muscle endurance), but don't go untill you're sore

do what works, pretty much.  you sound like you're young, and therefore have time
