Too much fertillizer in one area?

I dropped ALOT of fertilizer in one area ofmy lawn. I got alot off but sill a bunch moreand I am tired of trying to pick it all out of the grass. Whats gonna happen to my grass??? Aso how much should I water after fertilizing?

  1. Take a blower to the spot and spread the fert as best you can. Then water it every day until you move the nitrogen out of the root zone. Thats about all you can do. Applying charcoal may help move it out sooner.


  2. Drown the soil with water.  All you can do now is dilute the chemicals with water.

    Water until the water collects in a small pond.  Let the water soak in, then repeat.  You may have to repeat several times.

  3. The grass will die in the area but you can remove the dead part and it should fill in over time.  If the area is huge you can re seed.  The lawn should always get an inch to and inch and a half of water per week regardless of fertilization times.  However if you apply insecticides you want to make sure you water deeply right after you put them on to make sure they work properly.
