Too much money for a fourteen year old?

Question

is 100 $ per month too much or too little allowance for a 14 year old?/grade 9?

not that i'm getting it but i am considering it with my parents.

a 100 dollars is plenty it all just depends on if you are responsible enough to use it wisely and not spend it on unnecessary things

My teens are 15 and 16 and they get 75.00 a month and no extra money from us.

i think if ur only fourteen then u might wanna lower the price range, sweetheart, u dont wanna drive ur parents bankrupt.

im 15 n i get $50 a month n sometimes i hv to really be careful where i spend it....if i had a $100 then i wouldnt hv to worry tht much.

so i say 100$ is good if u shop a lot (like me!) but $50 is enough if u don't spend much n dont have a problem being on a budget.

I am 14 and i get 500 a year that they give me in some before school and right after school so i would say that it is a lot!

holy c**p, i got 10 bucks a week when i was like younger, and stopped getting allowance when i was like 13.. but 100 a month is to much for sure, think about its, thats over a grand a year.. get like 10-20 TOPS

It depends on what you are doing to earn it, and what your expenses are (if you participate in sports or other groups; if you need to buy your own clothes, school lunches or supplies).  It seems a little high to me, but it's really up to you and your parents what you get, regardless of what everyone else thinks - we aren't the ones paying. ;-)

So, sit down with your parents, say my expenses are / this is what I'm saving for, and these are the chores I can do in return.

I think that is way too much money unless you earn it and have to buy your own clothes.  If you don't have to work for it and your parents buy you everything, then way too much.  If you have chores and have to buy your own clothes and activities items then it is okay.

That's not a lot of money..but if you're not working then don't spend too much money from your parents...I would say $100 is the right amount for you. It's easy to spend money but making it isn't easy at all. It would be better if you can save that money per month or at least half of it. Your parents want you to learn the value of a dollar.
