Well my toilet is clogged right now and the water is up to the top in the toilet bowl. If I flush it again it will definitely overflow. Any ideas on how to get the water out?

  1. Use a plunger.

Tilt the plunger to minimize trapped air, and gradually move it to the bottom until the rubber covers the hole.

Slowly press down to compress the rubber to create a vacuum seal.

Keeping the rubber around the hole (don't lift it and break the seal), make w-5 short plunges to move the water in the pipe. The movement can be slow, you're just moving the water in the pipe.

Pull the plunger to release the seal. If the water does not flow, repeat the process.

  2. Obviously more water is not making it flush, so dont do that anymore.  Try using the plungger before calling the plumber.

One cost  less than the other and sometimes the lesser does just as good.

  3. Plunging may work but if you want to spend about $60.00 for top flight toilet auger (Its a snake like tool designed just for toilets that you crank into the toilet bowl & it will push the clog through or brtter yet you may hook it & pull it out.) it will solve most of your toilet drain problems.

They sell augers for less money but the better ones will not thwist or kink.

Or you may be  lucky (If it was all natural and paper) & just have to add fresh water to the bowl as it drains down & it may clear the drain after awhile.

One of the bigest problems with toilet plugs is female hygene products. I answer calls to unplug toilets from college students & far & away must calls are from female tenants.

  4. Best idea is deffinately to get a plumber if it is a recurring thing. If you have to do it yourself, turn the water off where it enters and allow it to drain. Then after the level is low enough flush it again and that should start to empty the holding tank.

  5. Grab a big plastic cup and start dipping in and dumping it in the tub.  Once you get the water level down you can work on the clog.
