I have for sometime now been thinking about being a Police/S.W.A.T. officer, I am 27 and just want more out of life and want to know I am making at least a tiny difference in the world. I curently work at a factory and make pretty good money, but I'm bored...The only thing I feel is standing in my way is, well I'm 27 and I feel like why would they want me when they can get some 21 year old that just came back from Iraq and has a CJ degree... The 2nd thing is before my factory job I worked as a barber and have completed the cosmetology program at my local community college. I am affraid this will reflect poorly on my ability to uphold the law, in short, make me look like a wuss.... whitch I am not by any means, also as far as build, I am 6'1 and 210lbs mostly muscle(I workout ALL THE TIME-and eat right) so that may help me a little. The 3rd thing is I do not have a criminal justice degree...

-any tips/advice??? Thank you for your time...

  1. Your definitely not too old. You may want to work on getting a degree first, though because you will definitely need it, however they have different options regarding that issue.

  2. go 4 it

to be honest im not sure what you have to do to become a Police/S.W.A.T. officer, but im sure it will be a lot more exciting than working at the factory.

go put some a*holes in jail (or 6 feet under).

  3. A criminal Justice degree would certainly up your chances, but 27 is not an issue at when it comes to being a police officer.  If that is your dream, DO IT.  I can't imagine working in any other field than Law Enforcement.  I'm rewarded every day!

You may even think about becoming a Federal Corrections Officer and joining our SORT (Special Operations Response Team).

Good Luck in your achieving your dreams!

  4. you are not to old. go for it good luck
