  1. Not at all.  Does depend to some degree on the school, but at my school, some graduate students live in the "dorms" (actually campus apartments)...my roommate in college was in her mid-20s and I've even known a few married students that lived in the dorms during the week and went home to stay with their spouse/family on the weekends.

...you might want to decide now how you're going to handle all the requests to buy alcohol for all the 18-20 year olds in your dorm...you'll most likely be popular when they find out you're old enough to buy booze!

  3. When I was in university, one of my classmates was 28 in first year.  She stayed in the dorm all four years (just like me) and was treated no differently than any other student.  I wish I knew where she is now, because she was great fun to hang out with.  The nice thing about dorm life is if your campus has janitorial staff and a meal plan, you don't have to cook your own food or clean your own bathroom.  Sweet deal!

  4. Nah. You can blend in really easily. You can be a college senior forever.

A few times I went to on-campus parties after my graduation, and when playing beer pong, I told the guy on my left that I was a sophomore, and the guy on my right that I was a fifth-year. No one ever doubted what I said.

Have fun and good luck with your studies.

PS: I turned 21 my first semester, so I was 24 when I was done.

  5. no way. your only bit older than the college freshmen.
