Question:

Too old to figure skate?

I'm 14 years old and want to start figure skating this winter. But I've never skated before (except at parties). I did take ballet for 8 years, though, from 3 to 11. Am I too old to compete and learn fancy jumps and things? Thanks! :D

  1. Not at all. My mom is a coach and she is teaching seniors in highschool and they both only started a year ago and they are already learning theirs axels and stuff. They both have tested and competed a few times.

  2. It'll be hard to go to the Olympic and stuff, but you're not too old to LEARN ice skating.

  3. No, you're just in time i'm 15 and i've been skating for 5 months and i can do like 3 simple jumps you can definetly can do it so good luck :)

  4. Not at all.  You are probably too old to be an olympic hopeful, but thats not a reality for most people anyway.  You certainly arent too old to learn some cool stuff, although it takes a while to learn jumps :)

  5. nope. you're too old to be serious about it, so don't plan on the Olympics or anything, but you could easily learn single jumps, maybe even doubles within a few years. the ballet experience will be very helpful. good luck!
