Too spicy soup, what can I add to cut the hot spicy down?

it is a vege soup but has too much pepper flakes in it.

  1. Vinegar or something is soure. Spicy is alkaline and vinegar is acidic then you get a neutralisation. Have a try.


  2. im mexican so all i eat is spicy **** =D but yeah never thought about the food being spicy just about me not being able to take it. if my toungue feels like its on fire i put salt on my toungue it always seems to help then i keep eating

  3. Cinnamon will always bring down your spice, also will add a great taste to spicy foods =)

  4. Depends on how much extra spice you need to deal with .adding a squeeze of lemon juice or a few drops of vinegar or working in a little tomato puree or paste will help to neutralise marginal spiceness .

    For a heavy overload of spiceness you will need to cook in some new ingredients that will help by absorbing the spice ,Some cooked rice or simmering soaked beans into the soup will work.Vegetable soup may well have cooked potato cubes,if this is not so,adding potato will help ,serve with bread croutons for masking spice .one of these handy tricks is bound to help .

    It would be more of a creamy soup then, but it would cut the spice.

  10. Add some small diced potatoes to kill the saltiness and add some tomatoes to kill the spiciness.

  11. Lime Juice and Sugar will cut down the heat from Hot Chilies and Cayenne.

    If its just spicy and not hot, stir in heavy whipping cream and Powdered licorice root powder

    If its salt, add a raw white potato. Bring it to a boil and remove the potato
