I chose this bike because i read it was perfect for beginners and easy too handle. when i first sat on it at the dealership it felt alright. but now that ive had it awhile its starting top feel small. Am i too big for this bike or am i just getting used to it and naturaly wanting to upgrade( which i dont plan to do anytime soon cuz i bought the bike brand new). Neway what do u guys think?

  1. Time to get out the Miracle Grow for vulcans...

  2. your tall aND THIN i personally perfer short and thin but whatever.

  3. I have never felt too tall for a bike except for my first one, a Honda Twinstar, nominally 200cc. (I am 6' tall, as well and about 240 pounds). Every thing else has been pretty darned comfortable.  I wonder if mfgers are making such specialized bike styles now that people are not comfortable on them.

(I have stopped the clock back in the late 70s, for my preference of bike style, still riding a relic. I'll buy another Honda when they make innovative motorcycles again...)

Have you devoted any time to trying to adjust it for your physique?  Rotating the bars up and back, to give you a bit more space, lowering pegs, adjusting mirrors, that sort of thing?

  4. All cruisers tend to make you look stupid, sooner or later.  That is because the seating position of an individual at home and on a two wheeler should be different.  However when you want to have the same seating position you have at home, on the bike too, it is asking for a bit too much.  The laid back stance, feet forward, hands held high are actually far from ideal.  You would have done well, to speak to a few owners before you took the plunge.  The tail bone too tends to suffer on longer rides.  Just grin and bear it friend.  You could opt for a smaller handle bar, it might help matters.  Also try to sit erect and confidently when riding.  Posture and attitude will help you to carry it through.  Good Luck.

  5. I think you should take Tinkers advice, and try adjusting your position. It always takes me a while to get everything "just right".
