I took a pregnancy test first thing in the morning and it came back positive, so I went to the doctors the next day and they had me take a urine test and that came back negative. So they had me do a blood test.. can I be pregnant? which urine test is more accurate, the home pregnancy test or the urine test at the doctor's? My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 months now. I haven't had my period since June 25th. Can I be pregnant or is it just stress?

  1. The test at the doctors is more accurate because it's less room for error.  The blood test is the most accurate.  Just wait for the results.  If you're not, the doctor can figure out what's wrong.  Good luck, i hope the test comes out positive.

  2. This actually happened to me. I took a home pregnancy and it came back positive went to the doctors and it was negative. They thought that the pregnancy could have been in my tubes. In the end i ended up pregnant and im 18 weeks. It was really weird but basically the one at the doctors office didnt indicate the pregnancy because it was too early. Since you havent had your period...i think its a good sign you are pregnant.

  3. most likely the doctor's test is more accurate then the home pregnancy test. =] good luck

  4. This is my opinion, but I think the reason why the HPT came back positive is because you took it with First morning urine. At the docs you probably didn't. So you didn't have enough hormones in your system to detect later on in the day.

In other words... I think I can say congratulations your pregnant!

I hope you are and I send baby dust to you!

  5. Only time will tell.  I hope you are pregnant!  I know that all tests read differently and you may not be far enough along for the dr. test to show up.  Time of day makes a difference also.  I have attached a website that can give you reasons on why this may have happened.

Lots of baby dust to you! :)

  6. Here in Australia, the tests the doctors use, are ones w can buy at the chemist. A positive is almost always right, but a negative can be wrong

  7. hi, we are in the same situation, for me i took 9 hpts and they all come back positive went to the clinic and they said more on negative side so i had to go back in two weeks, i even used the digital hpt and it said im pregnant. i should have asked for blood test. but the sad thing for me i got spotting last night and turned to heavy flow this morning. so goodluck to you. i hope your blood test will come out positive because thats more accurate than urine.

  8. I'm guessing you are pregnant.  This is just a guess.

  9. I've read that it's very rare to get a false positive, unless there's something wrong with the test itself.

So, the positive result you got is most likely correct, unless it's a faulty test.

Not sure why the doctor's test would result in a negative.  False negatives are very common.

Now, the blood test, is more sensitive to HCG than a urine test (I think), so I would probably go with what the blood test says.

If it says "negative," then you and your doctor need to try to figure out why you haven't gotten your period yet.

    Good luck!

  10. The one's at the doctor's office are not that accurate..the ones at home are more accurage I believe...the opposite happened to me positive at doctors negative at home..ended up I had a chemical pregnancy but the next month I was pregnant...Good Luck...
