And I was using regular paper targets. And I was with another guy and he couldn't get mine sighted in either. He already has one that he sighted in so he knows how to do it. I thought it was me but he couldn't get it sighted either.

  1. reset both sights back to factory zero and try again in 3 shot groups and try adjusting. some  rifles need a break in range session and then the groups start getting tighter. while others need to have the barrel lapped. get lapping compound and local gun shop. lap barrel with 10 to 20 rounds and try to zero again.

  2. Zero your weapon at 25yd. Try to shoot at the very same spot every time you squeeze the trigger (no matter where you may see your shots landing). From there try to make sense of the 3 shots you just fired. Are they in a grouping? If you repeat this 3-4 times and still no grouping at 25yds then you might need to take it to a gun smith and desribe the problem.

  3. What distance were you zeroing at/method used? What target were you using? Do you have an A2 adjustable rear aperture? Did you adjust the front sight post? Are you sure it wasn't user caused? A brand new rifle, in the hands of someone who doesn't know zeroing procedure can cause issues that aren't related to the rifle itself.

ETA after your edits. Did you adjust the front sight post? What kind of groups was your rifle producing at 25m? Occasionally the front site post gets, for lack of a better word, screwy. Sometimes you think you've reached the limit of its adjustment, but it's just rust (from storage) or similiar. If it's completely off the paper at 25m from 2 different shooters (assuming you have some shooting knowledge) you should at least be on paper. I would be more concerned with the groups as opposed to accuracy on paper. Are we talking shotgun looking groups, or just tight groups off center target? You are shooting in a supported position correct?
