Toomaline Jack recovers well to remain unbeaten in the Grand National
Irish trainer Dolores Ruth was delighted by Toomaline Jacks efforts last night at Wimbledon after the strong charge managed to turn a rather slow start into an impressive victory to secure his place in next Tuesday’s £7,500 final. The fastest performance of the night however came from the opening race in the form of Nebuchadnezzar.
The Lorraine Sams trained hurlder broke tremendously well from trap two, which put him in a strong position to catch up with early pace leader Lenson Flash.
Flash gave way after the first bend to give Nebuchadnezzar a victory of four lengths, with 29.19sec on the clock.
The odd compilers have shortened Nebuchadnezzar’s odds to 4-1 to take it next week, whilst favourite Jack’s odds of 1-2 remain unchanged in the ante-post markets.
Jack made a trap five start in the second semi of the night and produced a slow break which would have put a smile on any Layer’s face.
The beaten Derby favourite faced early crowding but managed to get back into the right gears after the second bend. Plane Daddy applied the pressure at the end but could not prevail leaving Jack to take it in a time of 29.23sec.
Sizzlers Spirit won the last semi final in a time of 29.51sec beating Ricky Holloway’s Romeo In Miami by five and half lengths.
It was a convincing win from the Norah McEllistrim trained charge and also a great night for the punters as all three favourites paid dividends.
