Question:

Tooth Pain - HELP!!!?

by  |  earlier

On Friday afternoon (today is Saturday morn.) my cousin came over and we were rough housing and he accidently hit their arm under my jaw and slammed my teeth together.

My teeth are still sore (more so on the left side molars). I visibly checked them and I see no cracks or chips. I have not ate chewy food (eg. apples, bread, etc...) since this happened.

Question: Has anyone had this happen to them before and what did you do for the pain? ALSO - How long was it before you could chew food properly and that your pain was gone?

  1. Yes this happened to me before but i chipped a tooth. I don't really know what happened in your case but I would recommend applying some orajel to reduce the pain- it's really good with teeth pain- and try to see a dentist as soon as you can.

P.S: I'm really sorry for you, I know teeth pain is the worst of them all

  2. I had this happen and I actually cracked 7 in the front and broke a chunk off of another. I fell Approx. 6 feet off of a porch wrestling with a friend. I went first, he came tumbling after. He landed on me and hit me under the jaw smashing my teeth together. You got an elbow imagine a full body dropping on you. Going to the dentist for me was a waste of time cause there was nothing he could do. Mine hurt for about 3 weeks so I would imagine with no visible damage you should be fne in a couple days. If not then there may be some nerve damage that may take longer to heal. It also depends on your personal pain tolerance as well. Take ibuprofen every six hours or so. Depending on your size you can take up to 800 mg. I got percocet but I also went to the emergency dentist and my case was a little more severe.

  3. Make a trip to the dentist just for safety.......you could have damaged a tooth or teeth beneath the gumline that you would miss just by checking yourself.
