  1. Trust me I had two sets of wisdom teeth that i had to have removed and the syringe was a life saver!  You actually want to make sure to get the food particles out so that they don't get stuck and cause bad breath or an infection!

  2. I assume you are talking about your wisdom teeth, and no it feels amazing to use the syringe. Fill it with lukewarm water and just point and shoot at the back of your mouth. All the trapped gunk will come out and trust me you don't want to loose that thing!

  3. I've never been a believer in giving patients a plastic syringe to cleanse the socket area.  You should be able to swish warm salt water, vigorously (after a few days) to remove any trapped debris without causing any trauma to the healing tissue.  We advise the warm salt water rinses after the first 24 hours.

Leaving the trapped food there will hurt much worse when an infection develops.  So rinse well to remove any food particles, and as always, take extra care with your oral hygiene while healing.
