Tooth extraction infected?

ok two weeks ago went to dentist with the worst toothache i have ever had (broken tooth i hadn't had seen to ) my own fault but i had occured a absess(painful) had a 5 day couse of antibiotics toothache disappeared last wednesday i went back to have it removed my gum is still very swollen and sore although bearable. i would have thought it would have been getting better by now. do you think its infected? or is this normal

  1. jasmine d is right salty warm water  to wash your mouth  out yuk i know but salt is good for healing and also may be a mouth wash that will help if it persisrts go back to the dentist as more antibiotics may be needed


  2. Go back to your dentist and have it checked.  

  3. When i had a widsom tooth out a few months back i found that warm salty water helped loads.

  4. Have it checked, you might have a dry socket, in which case the dentist would place an antiseptic dressing.

  5. yes it can be infected....but usually the solution is simple.....wash your mouth out with salty water after every meal (or at least 3 -4 times a day) it will soon settle....if not call your dentist.
