I had a root canal and a crown done on one molar about 2 weeks ago, besides some sensitivity, it looks fine. Today, I felt something hard (not food) is stuck between my molars so I tried to floss to get it out and I couldn't...and finally I was able to take it out and it turned out to be a small piece of my tooth (3mm x 2 mm x 1 mm)

Note: I got some extra space between the 2 molars after the dentist worked on them, and it was rough in between so it shreds the floss. This might be related but during my last visit, my dentist suggested that he will redo some work for free on my non-crown molar for some reason (which I don't know).

Is is normal to have piece of your tooth come out after about 2 weeks of a crown ? anybody has any idea what might be going on ? (why ? what should I do...etc)

thanks.

  1. you need to see the dentist right away infection can occur if it gets worse and at least the tooth will still fall apart
