Looking back at football history we will always find ways that people used to express their feelings and love for this game.
One of the most common and rejoiced ways to do this is through songs and music. Keeping that thought in mind here is a list of ten of the most popular football songs of all time:
Vangelis (Anthem) 2002
Coming on the list as the tenth most popular football song is the Vangelis Anthem. This was the official 2002 World Cup song and it was exclusively an instrumental song that basically expressed football from all the corners of the world.
The video of this song also shows clips of players and fans from all around the world competing against each other.
This literally became the anthem for this sport and was played in every stadium before every match. It did not matter if it was a major League match or a minor school tournament this was the anthem that would be played and all the players would swell up and want to play.
Enrique Iglesias (Can You Hear Me) 2008
Coming on number ninth is the song ‘Can You Hear me’ sung by Enrique Iglesias who is originally from Spain. Enrique performed this song when Spain won playing against Germany in the Euro 2008.
This quickly became the Euro 2008 theme song and Iglesias apparently had written it specifically for this event.
Nelly Furtado (Forca) 2004
Next on the list comes Portuguese-Canadian singer Nelly Furtado who grew up in British Columbia. She sung the official song for the Euro 2004 and the song was about the power and impact a nation can have on someone’s life.
